The building and rooms here are very comfortable and include a kitchenette, and I have no complaints at all.

The staff at Baia Portinenti were most friendly and helpful. They came to meet us from the ferry and drove us back to the port on our return. They supplied anything we asked for and allowed free use of the internet. The location was peaceful with a sea view and the walk into town was just ten minutes away with many restaurants to choose from; and we even had the opportunity to prepare a simple meal in our room.
This is not a complaint but I would prefer to use crockery for my breakfast instead of plastic, it is certainly more eco friendly. The sunbathing area was a "bit tired" but it was the end of the season.

Many positives about the hotel. Large, spacious and airy room with fridge and cooking facilities. Great balcony with fine views both of hills and of sea. Efficient air conditioning. Pleasant family-run establishment - though not much English spoken. Free pick-up from hydrofoil port and lift there from hotel. Plentiful reading material in main lounge. Splendid roof terrace. Decent restaurants within 15 minutes on foot from hotel.
Breakfast below standard for an Italian hotel - no ham, cheese or fresh fruit. Odd serving times (0830 to 1030) - I would have preferred an 0730 start. Main lounge inaccessible after 2100 or thereabouts - and no-one on duty after that time. Even though free wi-fi Internet access in room was promised, in the event there was none, as the modem seemed to be out of order. There was an very old and slow computer in the main lounge, but there was no Internet connectivity for the first two days of my four night stay.

A great find. Approx 10 minute walk from the port (essentially the end of town) which was fine for me who likes to walk a bit (hotel offers shuttle in any case). Room was excellent, spacious and great facilities including kitchenette and balcony with a view of the sea. Nice roof terrace. Staff very nice and friendly. SMALL beach 2 minutes from door so easy access to the sea. Lipari is a nice place to chill out and different places to explore (walk to the top of the hill - if you can find the path!). Great cafe for sit in or take away pizza and pasta in the middle of the high street. Cant remember name but its got red plastic chairs outside and is about halfway down the street on the right when coming from the port.
no complaints (would be nice to have some telly that is not dubbed into italian but this is an Italy wide issue fpr the tourist!).

We had a lovely one night stay here in December. We had a well equipped kitchenette room with a big balcony. The hotel was very very quiet but the staff were very accommodating.

The staff is very very nice, and helped me a lot during my one-week stay there making me not so lonely. One more story, the wifi was not available in my room just several days before my arrival, but the staff tried all her best to solve this for me, that moves me really although the Internet came late. I guess I will choose this hotel if I visit Lipari again.

We stayed in baia portinenti for 7 nights and we can't fault it at all. We had a studio room with a sea view and it was beautiful. The room itself was clean and this was maintained daily. All members of staff were very friendly and most spoke good English. The staff were incredibly helpful both prior to and during the stay, offering the best options for reaching the islands, including prices, and pick up from lipari port. Breakfast was good and included in the price of the room. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the town centre-very easily accessible but away from the hustle and bustle. There were a variety of people staying at the hotel including couples and families but not too many rooms.
